In the summer of 1999 Catherine Brown and Matt Cornell gave up their careers at the BBC and in politics to work in the field they love: animals.
Having worked in kennels in the past they decided they wanted to provide a more caring alternative that minimised the distress sometimes caused by being away from home.
In addition as the proud owners of the rescue dog Cooler (named after Steve McQueen, the Cooler King in the Great Escape after she made a bid for freedom from the rescue centre!) they realised that there were few options available to people who wanted to combine a busy working life with the joy and companionship that living with a dog can bring.
Therefore in 1999 they set up Happy Hounds & Cooler Cats with the aim of providing a friendly, reliable and professional dog walking and pet care service to clients in East London.
They started out walking three or four dogs per day but word of mouth spread quickly and they soon needed to add to the team.
Matt left in 2004 but Cath continued with the business and now in 2011 Happy Hounds & Cooler Cats have a large team of responsible, trustworthy and committed animal lovers providing a variety of pet care services to East London, South East London and out into Kent.
Happy Hounds and Cooler Cats is built on the philosophy of “taking care of other peoples animals as if they were our own” and with many years of successful care provision we truly believe we provide a trustworthy pal for your pet.
